In the past, the buildings didn't use to have more than two floors, but now it's different, the buildings have 10 floors and more. Although the houses didn't have electric light, they had candles. Now we have electric light and the candles are just for decoration.
The clothes, 50 years ago, were very classic and the women couldn't wear jeans or skirts, just dresses. Now everyone wears what they like, without rules. In the important dances, the women wore big hats to impress their friends.
The most popular transport in the past were the tram and the carriages. Although in those days the cars were just for the rich families, now everyone has a car.

Braga Then and Now
They used to wear formal clothes. The men used to wear trousers, jacket, tie, shirt and hat. The women used to wear dresses. Now people wear jeans and t-shirts.
They used to write with quills and with ink. Now we use pens or pencils.
They used to have a servant.
They used to have a lot of children. Now people have one or two children.
They used to walk everywhere and didn't use to use cars.
Houses used to have one or two floors. Now Braga train Station has ten or more floors.
They didn't use to watch TV and talk with telephone.
They didn't use to take photos with a camera.
They didn't use to have a vacuum cleaner and they didn't use to have electric lamps. Now we have computers, mobile phones, cameras and so on.

Luis
Hi friends I'm on a trip around the world.
Now I'm in Hawaii. Here I'm just surfing and wandering on the beach, and tomorow I will go bodyboarding. At the moment I'm in the hotel drinking a glass of vodka.
I've been to Sydney and the first thing I saw was a big kangaroo jumping in front of me. I've come to the famous Opera of Sydney and here I watched a beautiful show.
I've been to Egypt too. Here I rode a camel and I visited the Gizé Pyramids. After that I did a camel race with my friends and I won.
I will stay here, in Hawaii for one more week and then I'm going to Rio de Janeiro to see the Redentor Christ Statue.

Last weekend I arrived in Venice. Venice was a beautiful city and I liked it very much. I visited the cathedral. It was really beautiful.

J5 World Tour!

Hi! At the moment I'm in Portugal and I'm enjoying myself. I played football with my friends and then we went to McDonalds. I was at home playing n-gage games and now I'm at IH Braga.
I've already visited Tokyo in Japan and Hong Kong in China. In China I visited the Great Wall. It was fantastic and the wall was very very long. I saw a lot of tourists visiting it. I do karate, so in Tokyo I went to a Dojo (a place where people do karate) to see the Japanese fighting. They are very good at Martial Arts and I was amazed at them.
Next Summer I'm going to Hawaii. I'm sure it will be fantastic.

Barbara - my travel
Today I'm in Kenya. In the morning I did a safari and I saw a lot of different animals, like elephants and lions. At lunch I ate a bit of crocodile meat because it is very popular in Kenya and I wanted to try it. I'm staying in a little village. This village has got a small cafe, a little supermarket, a little hospital and 10 houses. In the afternoon I visited a animal reserve with a group of tourists. after that I visited the house of a person who teaches African people to survive in the jungle. Now I'm going to sleep in the house of a family who live in the village.
In the last week I been to Egypt and to the Sahara desert. In Egypt I visited the pyramids and a museum where the old life of a Pharoah is shown. In this exhibition I saw the room, the clothes, the old papyrus and more. I went to a scientific lecture of a scientist who investigates the secret passages of Egyptian pyramids. In the Sahara desert I rode a camel from a village to other. In the first village I learnt how to cook the snake. It's funny to see how the natives cook the snake, it's like we cook the chicken meat. In the second village I saw the houses of the natives who live there. Their life is so diferent from us.
Next week I'm going to visit India. I'm going to Goa to see the Indian culture and the history museum which shows the Portuguese travel to India in the middle ages and the things which exist in India which were taken by Portuguese people.
